What is JISD0302? - Pego Tester

JISD0302 is the Japanese standard for automobile parts against moisture, rain and spray water. The test grade includes M1, M2, R1, R2, S1, S2, D1, D2 and D3.

How to position the appliance in the test corner? - Pego Tester

For heating appliance and combined appliance:
1.Appliances normally placed on a floor or table in use, are placed on the floor and as near to the wall as possible.
2.Appliances normally fixed on a wall shall fixed on one of the walls, and as near to other wall and floor or ceiling as is likely to occur, taking into account the instructions.
3.Appliance normally fixed to a ceilling shall fixed to the ceilling, and as near to the walls as is likely to occur, taking into account in the instructions.

For motor operated appliance:
1.Appliances normally placed on a floor or table in use are placed on a horizontal support.
2.Appliances normally fixed to a wall are fixed on a vertial support.
3.Appliance normally fixed to a ceilling are fixed underneath a horizontal support.

Requirement for test corner:
The test corner, support and installation of buit-in appliances shall be made by plywood which has about 20mm thick and be coated with dull black paint. Thermocouples used for determing the temperature rise of the surface of walls, ceilling and floor of the test corner are attached to the back of small blackened disk (made by copper or brass), the blackened disk has 15mm in diameter and 1mm thick. The front of disk in flush with the surface of the board.

What is ESD test? - Pego Tester

ESD is short for electro-static discharge. Static electricity is a natural phenomenon that exist objectively, it will occur by touch, rubbing, electric induction and so on. Static electricity has features of long time accumulation, high voltage, small current and instant action.


The human body contact or rub or induct with other objects, it may cause thousands volt of static electricity. Static electricity caused serious damage in many fields. Triboelectrification and electrostatic on human body are two hazards which oftenly caused unstable and even damage to electronic appliance.

ESD test is a kind of test to simulate the real environment, and then evaluating the performance of electrical and electronic equipment when subject to electrostatic discharge. It will help the manufacturer of electrical and electronic equipment to improve the quality at the stage of develop and research. Generally, the ESD test includes contact discharge and air discharge. The contact discharge is to contact the metalic parts directly; and the air discharge is to make the ESD gun approach the EUT (cover with plastic or other nonmetallic material) as possible as it can. ESD test is widely applied to IT, electrical and electronic and communications industries.

Pego has launched ESD simulator, it is completely designed according to IEC61000-4-2, the test voltage can up to 30KV, which can cover all test level.

Test Spheres (Test probe A and Φ12.5 Steel Ball) - Pego Tester

Test spheres are designed according to IEC61032 and IEC60529, includes test probe A (Φ50 sphere with hand), test probe 1 ( Φ50 sphere) and test probe 2 (Φ12.5 sphere). For the test of verifying the protection of persons against access to hazardous parts, usually it request 50±5N force to be applied for probe A and probe 1, and 30±3N force to be applied to test probe 2. 

Usage
1) As shown in the figure, the sphere can not contact with the live parts or can not approach to hazardous parts.
2) For the test of approach to hazardous parts, probes without thruster should work with a force gauge to apply 50±5N (30±3N) force. 
Notice:
1) Be careful for creep down to harm human body and sample.
2) It requires periodic maintenance, and keep it rustless.

Impact steel ball is apply to the test of protection provided by enclosures against external mechanical impact, the enclosure should bear the danger caused by predictable operation. Withstand Voltage Tester

Withstand voltage tester can be called electrical insulation strength tester, dielectric strength tester, high voltage tester, hipot tester and etc. Its woking pricinple is: a specified AC or DC high voltage is applied between the live part of the appliance and the non-charged part (generally the outer casing) to check the ability of the electrical insulating material to against the high voltage, the voltage applied will only produce a small leakage current, then the insualtion performance is good.


In the long-term work, the electrical appliance not only has to bear the rated working voltage, but also withstands the overvoltage effect caused by the short-time higher than the rated working voltage during the operation (the overvoltage value may be several times higher than the rated working voltage), under the action of these voltages, the internal structure of the electrically insulating material will change. When the overvoltage strength reaches a certain value, the insulation of the material will break down, the electrical appliance cannot be operated normally, and the operator may get an electric shock, which will endangering personal safety. The main indexes of electrical safety inclues AC/DC withstand voltage, insulating resistance, leakage current, ground resistance and etc. The AC/DC withstand voltage test is used to verify the electrical safety performance of the product under actual working conditions and it is one of the important indicators for verifying the electrical safety performance of the equipment.


The test voltage range and alarm leak current value are the most important index for hipot tester, generally, in the standard of products under test will specify the high voltage value applied and the current to be judged.
